The Situation
Absolutely Permanent Hair Removal had already proven its service long before we arrived. Marta had been helping clients since 2002.
The problem wasn't the business. The way customers discovered, understood, and booked the business had changed. We helped rebuild that experience from the ground up — website, positioning, advertising and customer acquisition.
A Successful Business Built Before Digital Marketing Became Mandatory
Marta started Absolutely Permanent Hair Removal in 2002. At that time, a local service business didn't need today's combination of search advertising, conversion-focused websites, mobile optimization, reviews, landing pages, tracking and constant digital competition.
APHR built its reputation the traditional way: expertise, results, word of mouth and years of serving clients.
But as the market changed, its digital presence didn't evolve at the same speed. It wasn't necessarily a bad website for when it was created. It simply wasn't built for how people choose businesses today.
The original APHR website (2002)
Updating the Website Wasn't Enough
At one point, APHR made an early attempt to modernize with a website relaunch. But a modern-looking site by itself does not automatically produce customers.
People still needed to find the business. They needed to immediately understand what makes it different. They needed a reason to trust it. And they needed a clear path to book.
The marketing system around the website mattered just as much as the website itself. This is where the deeper problem became clear.
An early relaunch attempt (before JBM)
She Was Already Paying for Marketing. The Problem Was How It Was Being Used.
Before working with Just Because Media, Marta had already hired a larger marketing provider to handle advertising.
Money was being spent on advertising, but much of the approach did not align with how we would market such a specialized local service.
The previous strategy included display advertising and exposure that was not consistently centered around high-intent people actively looking for electrolysis or permanent hair removal.
For a specialized service like this, traffic alone isn't the goal. Intent matters.
We didn't have visibility into every detail of the old strategy, but what was clear was that the approach wasn't aligned with how high-intent customers actually search for and choose permanent hair removal solutions.
The Hardest Part Wasn't Rebuilding the Site. It Was Earning Marta's Trust.
After already spending money on marketing, Marta was understandably cautious about spending more. Our proposal wasn't the cheapest option.
And we weren't asking her to simply replace one website with another. We were asking her to invest in rebuilding how the business attracted customers.
That meant taking responsibility for the entire customer journey:

We Rebuilt the Customer Journey, Not Just the Homepage
01 — Positioning
We identified APHR's strongest differentiator and made it impossible to miss: Electrolysis provides permanent hair removal.
Instead of allowing potential customers to confuse electrolysis with temporary methods or laser hair reduction, the new messaging educates people immediately.
Examples now visible on the current APHR website:
-
"The only permanent hair removal solution — not reduction."
-
"Hair removal that actually finishes the job."
Strong, Clear Positioning
The messaging makes one thing immediately obvious: permanent results, not temporary reduction.

02 — Website
We replaced the outdated experience with a modern, mobile-first site built around conversion and education:
-
Clear permanent hair removal positioning
-
Electrolysis education and explanation
-
Trust signals and credibility
-
APHR's 20+ year history
-
Clear location information and service areas
-
Prominent appointment booking actions
03 — Search Advertising
Meeting People at the Moment They're Already Looking
We rebuilt the advertising strategy around high-intent search behavior. Instead of simply paying for visibility, we targeted people already searching for:
-
Permanent hair removal
-
Electrolysis
-
Facial hair removal
-
Electrolysis near them
The result is a direct connection between customer intent and solution.

04 — Paid Video & Content
Turning a Real Frustration Into an Advertisement
Instead of starting with product education, we started with the problem people actually feel: the frustration of temporary solutions.
The creative leads with emotion and recognition, then positions APHR as the answer.
This type of content reaches people across paid social, YouTube and search remarketing — building awareness long before they're ready to book.
05 — Build Recognition Through Marta
Before They Book Marta, They Get to Know Marta
People don't build trust with a logo. They build trust with people.
So we intentionally made Marta a visible part of APHR's marketing. Her videos aren't just content filling a social feed. They create familiarity.
Someone can encounter Marta multiple times before they're ready to book, learn from her, see her personality and understand what she does. That familiarity becomes trust.
06 — Conversion & Booking
People don't just need to reach the website. They need to know:
-
What APHR does (permanent hair removal)
-
Why it's different (electrolysis, not temporary)
-
Why they should trust Marta (experience & credibility)
-
Where to go (Berlin or Shelton location)
-
What to do next (clear appointment path)
-
That this is the right time to act
The new experience was designed to move someone from initial discovery to consultation with minimal friction.

But the most important opinion is Marta's.
We can show the website, the advertising, the videos and the bookings — but Marta lived through the entire transition.
She came to us after already spending money trying to improve the business's digital presence, and taking another chance on marketing required trust.
After rebuilding the website, changing the advertising strategy and creating content around Marta herself, she can explain the experience better than we can.
Hear it in her own words.
Marta talks about working with Just Because Media and how she feels about where Absolutely Permanent Hair Removal is today.
A Better Website Wasn't the Finish Line. Appointments Were.
The goal wasn't more clicks. It was more people actually choosing APHR.
Recent booking activity shows consistent appointments across both studio locations — Berlin and Shelton. The business is experiencing increased appointment activity, stronger customer acquisition, and continued growth momentum.
The transformation from a disconnected digital presence to a strategic, intent-focused system produced tangible business results.

From Rebuilding Online Visibility to Being Featured on Television
As APHR continued building momentum, Marta and Absolutely Permanent Hair Removal were recently featured on Great Day Connecticut on WFSB. The feature gave Marta another platform to educate Connecticut consumers about electrolysis and the difference between permanent hair removal and temporary/reduction-based alternatives.
Same Expertise. Completely Different Digital Presence.

Built around growth
APHR didn't need us to invent a good business.
The business was already good. Marta had been successfully serving clients for more than 20 years.
Our job was to make sure the digital experience finally reflected the quality and expertise that were already there.
That is the central message of this case study.
Your Business May Not Need to Change.
Your Marketing Probably Does.
A lot of established local businesses have the same problem Marta had. They've spent years getting good at what they do, but their website and advertising no longer represent the quality of the business behind them.
We fix that.
