What Is Dynamic Ad Insertion?
Google Ad Manager’s Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) is technology for serving video ads within live and on-demand streams. In a full-service implementation, ads are selected and stitched into the stream before it reaches the viewer.
Why the Product Distinction Matters
Ad Manager DAI is a publisher streaming product. Buying YouTube ads through Google Ads is a different workflow. The existence of DAI does not establish that YouTube has launched a new podcast advertising product or that every advertiser needs to change their attribution model.
For Publishers
Review the stream format, player integration, measurement and eligibility requirements in the product documentation. Ad insertion is a technical implementation, not just a targeting setting.
For Businesses Buying YouTube Ads
Start with the business goal, available campaign options and video creative. Check where ads run, whether the message suits the placement, and whether conversion tracking records useful actions. Judge performance from your own campaign data rather than assuming an ad-delivery technology guarantees better results.
